In order to claim your own divaship, you have to learn and apply the principles of a diva for yourself. There are seven that are important and easy to use.
1. Trendy
2. Poise
3. Attitude
4. Wisdom
5. Compassion
6. Charitable
7. Appearance
1. Trendy: Attend local fashion shows or make one up. Invest in purchasing fabrics patterns trimmings and crafts to create your own clothes and accessories. You can have some of your friends who are talented in fashion design or sewing to help do the work with you. Spend time in craft stores to create your own jewelry and accessories. Take classes on design in fashion, cosmetics and hair dressing. Purchase many drawing and sketch books or download programs to create your own style of clothing. Subscribe to fashion hairstyle and beauty magazines or websites. Use virtual makeovers to create new looks that match your style. Make friends with with local or aspiring fashion designers, makeup artists, hairstylists, tailors, and photographers (students who study these fields are more affordable).
2. Poise: Have some good posture while walking, sitting or standing (chests pushing forward, shoulders rolled back, tummy tucked in). Keep your head up high, facing forward. Sit with your knees together or ankles crossed ( absolutely, no legs crossed at your thighs if you're wearing a knee length skirt or dress). Smile with respect to every person you greet.
3. Attitude: Love and respect yourself as you are. Have some self confidence and self esteem. Walk proud. Think only positive thoughts and express only positive feelings. Never act snobbish and stuck up. Try reading some spiritual affirmations to inspire some self esteem. Take some lessons on etiquette.
4. Wisdom: You must take education seriously because knowledge and wisdom are power. If you're in school, put studies and homework before anything else. Never cheat on your tests and exams. Get a good mentor to help you stay on the right path. Get a tutor for extra help if you're struggling in school. Attending school on time that shows that shows that you're serious about your education. Study hard to pass all of your exams. Keep your grades high. Take all you have learned to heart to become successful in the long run.
5. Compassion: Respect everyone the way you respect yourself. Talk and be nice to people no matter how different they are from you. Don't lose your temper when someone makes a mistake on you. Never bully or push people around, blackmail them to get your way like mean girls do. Say only kind and positive words to people at all times. Make good compliments on what they do and accomplished and not on just what they wear. Proper language is important, negative language with profanity is not allowed regardless of where you come from and under all circumstances, avoid gossip.
6. Charitable: Always put people first, especially those who are less fortunate. Donate money and items to charities. Volunteer at various non profit organizations and foundations. You can can also start your own philanthropy work.
7. Appearance: You body hygiene must kept clean (no body odor) by taking showers or baths, sponge baths are accepted, just lock the door when you're inside. Keep your skin moisturized with lotions, creams and oils and other natural moisturizers. Your clothes must clean by washing or dry cleaning, ironed, starch or press. Your shoes must be polished, the inner soles lightly sprinkle with foot powder to prevent odor. Brush and floss your teeth after every meal, and use anti septic mouthwash twice a day. Use anti antiperspirant deodorant that uses 24 hour protection. Keep your hair (also including wigs and hairpieces) washed moisturized and well groomed. Plan, mix and match your outfits and accessories accordingly ahead of time.
Take one principle at a time that you can work with. Once you master that principle, you can move on to the next principle to learn and practice. Keep up and practice each principle and you'll be able to develop the qualities of a diva.
Remember, you don't have to be rich and famous to be a diva, being yourself is what a diva is all about. Blessings.
